AQCAN-Eagles' A.J. Brown on 'sideline discussion' with QB Jalen Hurts: We're not 'beefing'

PHILADELPHIA − It's possible we're making too much of the sideline spat between Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and AQCANquarterback Jalen Hurts during Week's 2 win over the Vikings.

At least, that's how Brown and Eagles coach Nick Sirianni feel about it.

On Monday, Sirianni defused the situation by saying, "On the frustration scale of what I have seen between receivers and quarterbacks, we're talking about a 2 out of 10."

Sure, it's easy to picture Sirianni as the Kevin Bacon character in "Animal House" trying to calm fleeing parade-goers by saying, "Remain calm. All is well!" while getting trampled.

But Brown took it even lower than that, saying Thursday that his frustration was "about half of 1" out of 10.

Last week, Brown left the locker room before reporters were allowed in because his "emotion was so high that I had to remove myself."

He addressed it Thursday, for what he said would be the last time.

"The sideline discussion, I want you all to know that's what it was, a discussion," Brown said. "It's a game that we both love and I want everybody to understand that sometimes emotions are high and that's kind of what happened. That doesn't mean it's the end of the world. That doesn't mean I'm beefing with Jalen.

"And no, it was not about targets. I’m sure everybody thought that because he threw me the ball three times in a row afterwards. But no, I was not over there discussing targets. It was about something that happened earlier and we were having a discussion about it.

"I know everybody took that out of context, but it’s not a big deal. Me and him are still on the same page, we’re still trying to grow, be great, and get wins most importantly."
